Dale, I do not understand your need to indicate that wind energy is all about the proper setbacks from residents. What about the fact that wind is inefficient, intermittent, non-dispatchable, very expensive and not environmentally friendly when it comes to avian wildlife. Wind energy and renewables in general are a scam!! requiring heavy public support for a supply of energy that does not provide any kind of benefit.

As Chair of an Ontario Chapter the most active email I reply to relates to income. Yes most certainly the health issues are signicant/dramatic.
The recent global melt down was not only an immediate impact it shows the long term exposure to Seniors. Governmental vesus private plans etc. mandated retirement etc. You’ve got to have it to spend it.
In closing not convinced any party rep truly understands the nature of Seniors. Very polite yes … convince me to vote for your party as a Junior Senior … no.
Dan.
I have been listening with interest, your concerns regarding the effects of wind farms. Yesterday, on your program, the leader of the Green Party, when asked about a proposed moratorum on new installations, pending a scientific health evaluation, kept insisting that such decisions must be the responsibility of local voters. I have to take issues with his response, in that what do local voters know about health risks. Local voters may be knowledgable, but are not medical scientists. Your guest just plain avoided the issue, and continued to “drink the kool-aid”. Keep up the good fight.
Thank you.
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE MILTON TRANIST THEY ARE CANCELING NUMBER ONE WHICH I TAKE .I HAVE VERY BAD ATHIRST NOW I HAVE TO WALK TEN BLOCKS TO CATCH THE BUS. I AM A SENIOR AND THEY DO NOT CARE.
I live in Woodstock Ontario where a brand new Art Galley that was funded by 3.5 million dollars worth of Senior Government grants has been offered by our Mayor – Pat Sobeski – to Fanshawe College as classroom space to expand their campus because our new Mayor had opposed the project when it was passed by the previous administration, and feels that 200 college students will have a more positive impact on the downtown than a state-of-the-ART Gallery. The Gallery was set to open in June with children’s Art classes already filled and touring displays already booked. Suddenly on Tuesday the Mayor pulled the plug on the project. We are all in shock.
We have 3 Councillors that support the Gallery and 3 that are opposed which means that the Mayor will cast the deciding ballot to terminate a dream that has been 25 years in the making. Please help us fight back – we need increased exposure on this issue if we hope to be successful.
Stephen Harper’s recent decision to limit reporters’ questions to five a day and also to put them behind a wire fence must have felt like an insult to the reporters. I assume they are all professionals.
They might consider sitting in the departure lounge when the plane is about to take off and stay there until s0meone comes to negotiate a more
reasonable deal.

Do not know what your topic will be on Tuesday March 23 but I wanted to call you on air and ask your opinion of why Jack Layton’s wife would open an election office last week end if her husband had not already made up his mind about the budjet that is being presented today. Why is it that political peope cannot be honest when we the voters listen to many of the remarks they make and what they do.

Hi Mr Goldhawk. My name is Fiona and I need some advice. Aug 2010 I purchase a car from Nissan. When Nissan Finance dept entered in my information to set up my account they entered in the wrong data, both the set amouont for the car and the payments. No problem errors happen people can make mistakes, one file gets mixed with another. I bring this to their attention, and I have to do a follow up call. It takes a month to get sorted and no money is coming out of my bank accout meanwhile I start recieving credit notices threating my credit rating will be affected. I received a letter with the Director of Finance, Jim Higgins, signature stating that my car is paid in full and that they are releasing me from lien on the car. After alot of phones on my part it gets retified beginning of Nov. Balances owing are updated, regular payments are taken out correctly and on time.
Feb2010 I receive phone call from Nissan saying that someone at Nissan turned off the PAP switch (pre-authorize payment) on my account and now I was behind in 3 payments which turned in to 4 by the time they got it back up and running. Nissan Finance and I came to an agreement and got things sorted. I was told that in no way was my Credit Rating going to be effected by their errors on my Nissan account.
Feb 24 I find out through my bank that yes indeed Nissan had put a negetive report on my credit at the Credit Bureau. They had me at a R8 rating with repossession. It took till March 14 for them to reverse the rating back to an I1 (all my credits have always been I1 which I’m very proud of) and to remove the repossession.
Mar 16 My bank and I are going over my credit bureau history and I find out the Nissan has a 2nd file register at the bureau of an amount that is not even for the amount of the car, $27945.00. The car I purchased was for 16037.12. Both files at the bureau have the same account # on them except the wrong one start with 3000.. before account #.
I am so frustrated with this that I don’t want to have anything to do with Nissan. I don’t want their car. I don’t want to drive the streets advertising their name.
I wrote and sent a letter registered mail to Mr Jim Higgins, Director of Finance, on March 4th and they did received it on March 8th. I have yet heard anything back from him.
What advise do you have? This was the worst purchase I have ever made.
I just want to give the car back and walk away without losing any more money on it. End the aggreement and here their keys back.
Thank you for reading

Hi Dale, this is nothing to do with your programme today, but it is about something I think you should inform your listeners.
A few days ago I had a flag come up on my Skype icon on my computer, informing me that there was someone trying to reach me. I saw that it was a soldier in Afghanistan. Usually I block everyone who isn’t on my contact list, but this time I thought it was a serviceman needing to chat to someone in the civilized world, so I let him contact me.
I was told that he was a general working for the U.N. and was about to retire. He told me he was Lt. General William Caldwell, so I Googled the name and came up with quite a bit of information. He said how he enjoyed chatting to me and how it helped him get through the days in Afghanistan.
I became a bit suspicious when he said he wanted to come to Canada and would be flying by commercial airline and not military transport, as there are no direct flights from Afghanistan.
On Google, there is a video of the General on the Jon Stewart show and when scrolling down came to the comments. One of them said someone from Africa was impersonating the General and she was contacted by Skype as well. I challenged the impersonator, and he suddenly disconnected when he realized that I was on to him.
I do believe Lt. General Caldwell of United Nations should be informed that someone is impersonating him, in order to connect with Canadians listed on Skype.
I have kept all the chats if they are needed to follow up on this situation.
I was thinking of writing Lt. General Caldwell a personal letter regarding the impersonation, but cannot find the address of the U.N.
I hope this information will be of interest to you, to help other ladies not to be conned by this person.
Regards,
Wendy Banki

Goldhawk, Years ago when I was in the ” fast lane”, traveling to and from work in Toronto, I listened to CFRB. I don’t know if you are the same person, but you sure sound like it. Now, as then, you must have the patience of Job. When is the book coming?
