Jesus of Nazareth is many things to many people. He is the most famous figure in the Bible, but also the most debated and controversial. So who was he, really?

Richard speaks with , Dr. George R. Honig, who argues that Jesus might have been a brilliant physician with the medicinal healing
skills to perform the cures that are widely regarded as miracles. In his new book, “The Alexandria Letter,” Honig, a doctor with a
long-standing interest in history and religion, draws on his medical experience to explore a theory of Jesus as an extraordinary medical
healer rather than a miracle-worker. As a physician, Honig is interested in how Jesus might have achieved cures that seemed
supernatural to the people of the day.

In The Alexandria Letter, Honig explores this theory through a letter written by a first-century follower of Jesus and John the Baptist. In the letter, Jesus is portrayed as an ancient physician with incredible skills, allowing him to create the treatments and cures that earned a place in religious history as miracles.
