If you’ve been tuned in to the station today, you’ve surely heard that today is the 34th anniversary of the King’s death.
In the Toronto Star article below from August of 1977, Rompin’ Ronnie Hawkins expresses his shock and dismay, clearly a feeling many felt at the time (and still do): “He had the sound that changed the world. It’s the end of an era, the king is gone. He opened the doors and we followed him. I’m in shock: Elvis was only two days older than I am“.
