Never underestimate the weather! What a difference a bit of sunshine can do to your mood…I know it’s not just me because I can see the smiles and attitudes on peoples faces…nice to finally get through this long cold winter and look forward to the sunshine.

2011 off to a good start

Well, the new year is here and already, my blessings have been great! No I haven’t won the lottery ..nothing out of the ordinary has happened…that’s just the point…I’m taking more time this year to count my many blessings – and I certainly had a lot! A wonderful husband…great son…my mother is alive and healthy…my circle of family and friends are the best and I live in this great country Canada…what more can someone ask for???!!

I hope you’re keeping well and you’ll take the time to do the same, count your blessings…you’ll be amazed at how many you have.

fall colours

Are you a big fan of the fall??…I know winter is just around the corner but wow…ya gotta love this time of year!! I’m blessed that I live in a heavily wooded area and the leaves are looking sooooooo beautiful…went for a walk with my husband yesterday and we had to slow our pace just to take in all the great colours!

Hope you’re enjoying the start of fall…it doesn’t last long so let’s take in the great view while we can…remember, it’s the little things that make us so lucky to live in this country and have all that we do!

gearing up for back to school

I must tell you, this has been a wonderful summer holiday for me! Not only has the weather been fabulous but I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my 11 year old son Zack. Because of my work sked (and my husbands) I’ve spend full days with Zack, and I must say, it’s been a treat. He’s older and we’re able to chat about everything and anything…he’s my “little man” . This has been the first year I’m NOT looking forward to sending him back to school. We were out on the weekend buying clothes…shoes…napsack etc…he turned to me and said..”Mom I’ve had fun with you this year…me too Zack!

a sure sign summer ending

Well it’s that time of year again…where my son starts to whine that summer holidays will soon be over…why?? Well he heard me announce the CNE opens tomorrow. I think for most of us it’s a clear reminder the kids will be back to school soon and the Labor Day weekend is just around the corner. Regardless, no complaints this year because the summer has been soooooooo wonderful, my husband, son and I have had one of the best summers we’ve ever had!!

where does the time go??

Is it just me or do you find time flys by soooooo fast! Where do the days go??…it seems like yesterday I put away my Christmas stuff ( actually it was yesterday)…but that’s not the point. I remember my mom would constantly say the same thing…” My goodness…is it Friday already???…where did the week go” She still says it today, only I understand and appreciate her words even more .

Only one solution to this…slow down! I plan to appreciate every day..( I know everyone says it)..but I’m going to be alot more aware since time is moving sooooo quickly.

gearing up for the great weather

Wow, you’ve got to love the weather we’ve been getting lately! I really enjoy this time of year because it’s great for clean up…what’s nice is taking that extra step and cleaning up around you. Mayor Miller had mentioned recently how nice it is to take pride in our city and do that little extra in cleaning up. After all, Earth Day will be here soon, timing is perfect, this weekened, we hope to take a family walk through a near by park land and we’ll make a point to clean up any litter we see…my son actually enjoys it, he figures he’s helping the enviroment!

Smells of spring

Wow…have we ever been lucky this year with the great weather! Very little snow and a fair bit of sunshine…perfect to get you in the mood for spring! Love this time of year, it’s that fresh feeling, getting your house, yard and closets ready for spring…and it’s never too early to start. Also great to be outdoors more often, my husband and I have been walking a whole lot more…we’re both tired and don’t want to go prior to the walk, but once we’re out there…wow, it feels great…and even better when we get home!
