Olympic memories

December 29, 2009

Well..the countdown continues for the 20-10 games in Vancouver…(we’re going with twenty-ten around here…just so you know) Now..one of my favorite Olympic memories involves my future ex-wife (ha ha ) Josee’ Chouinard.. Get this ..AFTER she returned to Pearson AFTER the 94′ games…I had interviewed her JUST as she got off the plane after her horrific performance (see below) You could see her family, who had flown in from Montreal, on the other side of the glass ..I told her…”go…there is your family….there is the rest of your life…etc…etc..” Well…she broke down LIVE on CITYTV like 4 year old school girl after losing a medal at girl scouts. Of course I felt bad…she’s the most beautiful Canadian Olympian ever…and I made her cry on live TV !!! Hellooo ”
Here’s the background from Lillehammer..Josee is perhaps best remembered for having had the misfortune of skating after Tonya Harding’s first attempt in the free skate . Remember ? Tonya’s skate lace broke and needed to be replaced. After a false start, she was granted a re-skate. Josée was then called out onto the ice prematurely and unexpectedly. Many observers felt her shaky performance was the result of being forced to skate before she had fully prepared herself.
Oh well…she still looks fab, even in those cheesy black and white ads she’s doing on TV. Sorry I made you cry Josee’..call me !
