The Deal of the Week is more of a deal ‘window of opportunity’ over the next few weeks. I have spoken about how the recent hurricanes have devastated Caribbean destinations such as St Marten, Dominica and Puerto Rico. But most of the Caribbean destinations are up and running again or were not affected by the storms at all. However, the common perception is that popular destinations such as Cuba and the Dominican Republic are not open for business, so vacation bookings have suffered accordingly. This is the opportunity! Most of the major tour operators such as Transat, Sunwing, Air Canada and WestJet are now offering generous deals to Cuba and the DR in particular to entice travellers back.
In the past week I have seen offers of all-inclusive vacations at half price, well under the $1,000 mark, for a week’s all-inclusive package to a 4 ½ star top brand such as Melia. So check out the current deals with your local travel agent and you may find yourself with a bargain trip, as well as helping the local Caribbean economy recover from the storms.
