Have you heard our new weekly feature yet? ‘The Fabulous Fifties – and Beyond‘ brings back the great songs of an exciting time in music. Rock’n’roll was new, traditional pop music, jazzy-pop, folk, R&B – they were all on the charts and in the malt-shop jukeboxes. We loved them then – and still do today.  And now there’s a show that delivers those songs every week. It’s the first hour of our long-running Sunday afternoon radio tradition – ‘Vintage Favourites‘, from 2:00 to 4:30pm.

I’m going to spice things up a bit in honour of Cinco de Mayo on ‘The Fabulous Fifties – and Beyond‘. Then after the 3 o’clock news – The Four Seasons are this week’s featured artist in our year-long spotlight on ‘the greatest groups of our time – in alphabetical order‘. The show’s main feature is on Billy Joel – turning 70. Then Vintage Canadiana spotlights The Crew-Cuts and we’ll wrap it up with an 80th birthday salute to Toronto-born R. Dean Taylor.
