A New Tarantino Movie Means a New Tarantino Soundtrack

Film director Quentin Tarantino has always found a way to spotlight great music in his movies. His films have revived interest in, and a passion, for many ‘nearly forgotten’ oldies from ‘Little Green Bag‘ (by George Baker Selection) in his first directorial feature ‘Reservoir Dogs’, to ‘Bring a Little Lovin‘ (by Los Bravos), in his ninth and most recent release ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’.  I’m a huge fan of both movies and music – so a new Tarantino film always brings with it a chance to celebrate old songs in new ways.  Who can forget QT’s use of ‘Stuck in the Middle With You‘ (by Stealer’s Wheel) in ‘Reservoir Dogs’ ?  It left an indelible mark on anyone who watched – and forever changed the perception of that song.  I’m spotlighting ‘Tarantino Tunes‘ with at least one song from each of his 9 directed films, on my next ‘Vintage Favourites‘.
Of course, I’ll still start the show with our usual ‘Fabulous Fifties – and Beyond‘ hour (2-3pm.) before our 3 o’clock Triple Play spotlight on another of ‘the greatest groups of our time – in alphabetical order’, bringing us to The Monkees, and the Canadian counterpart of that feature lands on The Guess Who.  Sounds like a great show, and I hope you’ll join me this Sunday (Aug.4) for ‘Vintage Favourites‘ from 2:00 to 4:30pm. on Zoomer Radio.
