Frank Sinatra died May 14th, 1998 – 25 years ago this Sunday. I’ll reflect on the life and legacy of one of the greatest entertainers. The 14 curated songs will take us from his first hits during those ‘bobby-soxer days’, to his career crash in the early 50s, followed by the greatest comeback ever and decades of hits and duet recordings – a fascinating story with classic songs.
The show’s first hour – ‘Our Sunday Best – A Century of #1 Hits – will take us from The Roaring Twenties with the original version of ‘Ain’t She Sweet’, to the Forties with Nat King Cole, the Fifties with Elvis, the Sixties with Satchmo’s comeback, and the Seventies with Three Dog Night. And I’ll tell you ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘Hotel California’. And I just might have a couple tunes for ‘Mom’. Please join me for another Sunday afternoon of great radio – 2:00 to 4:30 – with Vintage Favourites.
