Hi, I’m Gene Stevens, and here’s what’s coming up on the next ‘Vintage Favourites’.
It was one of the most eventful years ever – ‘the vintage year – 1939’ … with its ever-tightening spiral of events that led to the start of World War Two … the first-ever Royal Visit to Canada and the christening of the QEW.
… Hollywood classics like ‘Gone With the Wind’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ … Lou Gehrig made baseball history … ‘Batman’ debuted, nylon stockings went on sale for the first time, and big bands ruled the music scene.
Plus a very special ‘Triple Play for JFK’, remembering ‘The Band’ on the 40th anniversary of their ‘Last Waltz’, and a birthday salute to Keith Hampshire.
Don’t miss this one – ‘Vintage Favourites’ Sunday from 2:00 to 4:30, from Zoomer Radio.
