Lincoln is a sweet senior who loves warm summer drives, pulling up at the drive-thru for a pup-o-chino, and being read to as he falls asleep. This old so-and-so has seen it all. He’s tasted every kind of treat, smelled every kind of butt, and peed in every kind of bush!
He’s been around long enough to know what he likes! He likes things that taste good, dislikes things that taste bad, and appreciates a good solid nap after complaining about how good kids have it these days. And boy-oh-boy is there nothing like a nice, quiet drive on a summer night!
Lincoln’s best friend and lifelong companion recently passed away. This left him heartbroken, vulnerable, and without a home. Arriving at the shelter was really hard for him, considering his old age. He’s made lots of friends since being here, but he’s ready to find a new home where he can settle down and live out his golden years in style!
Since losing his friend, Lincoln has been dealing with a little anxiety. New situations and new people can make him nervous. The same goes for other dogs. He sometimes reacts to other dogs by barking and telling them to back off! He would much appreciate being given a comfortable distance when there are dogs around.
He hopes to find a family that’ll understand the needs of a senior dog like him while also being patient with his anxiety. He likes taking introductions nice and easy, and hopes you’ll bear that in mind! A more mature home where he’ll be read to and snuggled with would be awesome! But he could definitely warm up to a younger audience if they understand his age and respect his space! Oh, and no other dogs in the house please!
