Premier McGuinty is musing that police and firefighters should no longer be able to bank sick days.

He says that would be a way for municipalities to control costs.

New contracts the government is trying to impose on teachers would eliminate the practice of banking unused sick days to be cashed out at retirement.

The premier says municipalities need to ask themselves whether they should continue to allow police and firefighters to bank unused sick days.
