It was a soggy start to the 10th annual Weekend To End Women’s Cancers. But 45-hundred people braved the torrential rain Saturday morning to walk the 30-plus kilometers from Toronto’s CNE grounds up to Downsview Park.
Many camped overnight at Downsview and walked the return trip Sunday.
Their efforts raised 10-million dollars in support of The Campbell Family Institute at The Princess Margaret Hospital. That made it the largest walk of its kind in North America.
Thanks to those who took part, and those who made a donation, our own Team Zoomer, about 30 strong, and led by co-captains Libby Znaimer and Jane Brown, raised close to 50-thousand dollars.
