Via Rail says delays on its Montreal-Ottawa-Toronto route will continue today following a Canadian Pacific freight train derailment southwest of Ottawa.
Five CP freight cars derailed Wednesday afternoon at Smiths Falls.
No injuries were reported.
Via says delays will continue in both directions through the site of the derailment.
The passenger rail company added that buses could be used to transport some passengers for at least part of their trip.
Via said earlier that passengers travelling on direct routes between Montreal and Toronto that do not go through Ottawa would not be affected.
