Roger Ebert has won a prestegious award given to newspaper columnists.
The late movie critic for the Chicago Sun-Times won first prize for online columns or blogs on large websites in the National Society of Newspaper Columnists annual contest.
Ebert and fellow critic, the late Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune, became famous for their “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” ratings for the latest movie releases.
Eberet died in April after a long battle with cancer.
