Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan is being recognized for the work she has done with her Vancouver music school.
The Sarah McLachlan School of Music has given free music instruction to over seven-hundred at-risk students since it was founded in 1999.
For her efforts in promoting music education, McLachlan has been given the World Service Medal by Kiwanis International.
