Canadian-born actor Cory Monteith, the star of the hit TV show “Glee”, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday..

The 31 year-old Monteith had been staying at the hotel for about a week.

On Glee, Monteith played the role of Finn Hudson, the high school football hero who joins the school’s show choir, or glee club.

Police say they don’t suspect foul play.  He did have a history of drug abuse and did a stint in rehab earlier this year

Monteith was born in Calgary and raised in Victoria.  He had limited acting experince, and didn’t consider himself a singer, but Glee’s producers liked what they saw on his audition tape where he did a drum routine using utensils and anything else that was handy.
