The number of homes and business without electricity in Toronto is now down to about 6,000 as of 12:00 noon Sunday.  That’s less than half of what it was last night.

Toronto Hydro CEO Anthony Haines says it could be just a matter of hours before everyone is back on the grid.

Grocery giant Loblaw is going to donate 25-thousand dollars worth of gift cards to people who lost refrigerated and frozen food because of the power outage.

Premier Kathleen Wynne is urging other foodstore chains to get involved as well to help out victims of the ice storm.
