Shirley Jones has a birthday on Monday, and the Oscar-winning actress is going to jump into her 80s.
She’s going to take her first-ever skydive to mark her 80th birtday, something she says she’s wanted to do all her life.
Jones says former U-S President George H. W. Bush inspired her by making several jumps, including one when he turned 85. She says her sons don’t want her to do it.
Jones was the star of the 1970s TV show “The Partridge Family.” She made her mark in the 1950s film versions of “Carousel” and “Oklahoma”, and won an Academy Award for her role in the 1960 film “Elmer Gantry.”
