Eugenie Bouchard lost in the women’s final at Wibledon.
Canada’s tennis darling from Montreal was beaten 6-3, 6-0 by Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic. It was Kvitova’s second Wimbledon title.
Before Bouchard’s run at the championship, no Canadian had ever made it as far as the quarter-finals in the Open era.
Earlier this year the 20 year-old reached the semifinals in both the Australian Open and the French Open.
