She had to end her attempt to swim across Lake Erie early, but 16 year old Anneleise Carr still raised a lot of money.

The Walsh, Ontario teen was trying to swim across Lake Erie from Erie Pennsylavinia  to Port Dover, Ontario.

But instead, she decided to come out of the water at Long Point, Ontario, a spit of land closer to the middle of the Lake.

A spokesman for her team says Carr still managed to raise about 130 thousand dollars for Camp Trillium, a support centre for children with cancer.

In 2012 Carr became the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario.
