The UN’s latest report on climate change says “leaders must act now.”
The report is the fourth and final volume on climate assessment by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
It says climate change is happening, and it’s almost all caused by human activity. The report is actually a compilation of three reports that were released over the past 13 months.
It suggests that in order to avoid what it calls an “irreversible impact,” fossil fue emissions may need to be reduced to zero by the end of this century.
The report points to rising sea levels, warmer and more acidic oceans, melting glaciers and more intense heat waves as impacts of climate change already being experienced.
