Hollywood handed out some Oscars Saturday night.
Not the big ones we’re all familiar with, but still important.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented the Governors Awards to actor and activist Harry Belafonte, actress Maureen O’Hara, film maker Hayao Miyazaki, and screen writer Jean-Claude Carrier.
The presentations were made at a private, non-televised ceremony, with Hollywood stars in the sudience including, Ron Howard, Jennifer Aniston, Sidney Poitier and Reese Witherspoon.
The awards can best be described as Oscars honouring stars who never one won, but should have.
