Two trendy Toronto restaurants in Yorkville were destroyed in a 4-alarm fire Christmas night.

Sotto-Sotto and Spuntini Ristorante and Bar on Avenue Road near Davenport went up in flames shortly after 7:00 p.m.

An apartment in the same building was also destroyed.  Fortunately no one was in it at the time.

Sotto-Sotto is a popular dining spot for visiting Hollywood stars, either at the Toronto International Film Festival, or when in town shooting a movie.

Spuntini co-owner Peter Catarin says it’s too soon to know if they’ll re-open anytime soon.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been deremined, and damage is estimated at more than a million dollars.
