When we think of Rob Ford, the sport that usually comes to mind is football because of the years the former Toronto mayor spent coaching a city high school team.

But hockey will now be front and centre for Mr. Ford following his appointment to the Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum board of directors.

He will not be on the committee that selects new members to the Hockey Hall of Fame, but says he will do everything he can to support and promote the game throughout Canada, especially to children.

Also elected to the board were city councillors Stephen Holyday and Mark Grimes.
