“The Fantastiks” is going to continue.
The legendary off-Broadway production was scheduled to close on May 3rd, 55 years after it opened in 1960.
But two anonymous donors have stepped up with a pledge to keep it open, according to producer Catherine Russell.
“The Fantasticks” is a mock version of Romeo and Juliet about a boy and a girl brought together by their fathers along with an odd assortment of characters including a mute and an Indian named Mortimer.
