The chief content officer at Netflix was heckled as he made his company’s first official visit to the Cannes Film Festival.
In fact, one French reporter yelled that Netflix will destroy the film ecosystem in Europe.
But Ted Sarandos said Netflix would benefit the European film industry.
A packed Palais des Festivals theatre turned out to hear Sarandos, who took part in Cannes’ NEXT conference where he spoke about Netflix’s global strategy. He says they want to change the traditional release window schedule of movies.
