The three Americans and a Brit who foiled what could have been carnage on a high-speed Amsterdam to Paris train on the weekend have recieved France’s highest honour.
US Airman Spencer Stone, National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, their friend Anthony Sadler and British businessman Cris Norman had the Legion of Honour pinned on them by French President Francois Hollande.
They subdued the heavily armed gunman who appeared ready to fire at will after already wounding a man on the train. Stone received lacerations to his head and his hand while battling with the gunman.
