Canada and Ontario are making more money available to help Syrian refugees.
International Development Minister Christian Paradis announced on Saturday that the federal government has created the Syrian Emergency Relief Fund which will match Canadian donations up to 100-million-dollars.
It’s in addition to 503.5 million already allocated for humanitarian assistance to Syria and neighbouring countries.
Premier Kathleen Wynne says Ontario is pledging 10.5 million dollars: 8.5 million over 2.5 years to help refugees settle in the province, and 2 million to be donated to humanitarian relief efforts.
