Blue Jays star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki could be out for 2 to 3 weeks just as the regular season winds down and the Jays are in a pennant race.

Tulowitzki suffered what’s described as a small crack in his shoulder blade in the opening game of a doublheader at Yankee Stadium Saturday.

He collided with outfielder Kevin Pillar when both were trying to catch a flyball. Tulowitzki made the catch, but then fell to the ground in pain.

To get some help in the infield, the Jays aquired Darwin Barney from the Los Angeles Dodgers in return for a player to be named later, or cash considerations. He was the National League’s Gold Glove winner at 2nd base when he played for the Chicago Cubs in 2012.
