No matter how much the winning party in Monday’s federal election wants to raise or lower taxes it won’t matter much to the owner of a Lotto 6-49 ticket puchased in Mississauga.

The winning ticket in Friday night’s draw is worth 64-million dollars — a record for a Canadian lottery — and it’s tax free.

They will, of course, have to pay the piper on any taxable income from it down the road, but in the meantime the ticket holder or holders can begin enjoying a whole new lifestyle thanks to winning a record amount for a Canadian lottery.

The previous record for a lottery in this country was 63.4 million dollars won in a Lotto 6-49 draw in April 2013.

Four winning ticketholders took home about 16-million dollars each.
