Imagine spending almost seven months by yourself in a small boat on the Pacific Ocean.
That`s what a Zoomer from the GTA did, and he rowed his boat for up to 15 hour every day, often in high winds and heavy seas.
Fifty-three year-old John Beeden, a resident of Burlington, Ontario rowed from San Franciso to Cairns, Australia in 209 days in his 6-metre boat, the “Socks II.“ It`s a distance of 11-thousand-296 kilometres.
In 2011 Beeden rowed across the Atlantic Ocean in 53 days.
Cheering crowds, including his wife and two daughters, greeted Beeden dockside when he arrived in Australia,
