A show meant for people to learn more about trips to hunt big game in Africa opened Saturday in Concord, north of Toronto, with a group of protesters making their feeings known.
It was the third location booked by African Events Canada, after the first two venues cancelled their rental agreements for the weekend because of petitions and protest campaigns.
Trips booked at the show would give people the opportunity to hunt for animals such as lions, leopards, elephants and hippos.
One of the protest organizers said the show promotes the senseless slaughter of majestic African animals.
York Regional Police say the protesters promised to be peaceful.
