They’re like members of our family, and while we love it when our dogs shake a paw, sit up for a treat, or take us for a walk, some of them have to get out and work for a living.
But in keeping with their reputation as the happiest animals on the planet, dogs that were put through rigorous demands in the Westminster Kennel Club agility trials in New York came through with flying colours.
“Holster”, and Australian shepherd rocketed through tunnels, jumps and more Saturday night to take home the title.
It was the first time in the three-year history of the contest that it wasn’t won by a border collie.
A terrier-beagle mix named Haily was the agility winner for mixed breeds.
It’s one of the fun events at America’s most famous dog show which gets underway in earnest Monday at Madison Square Garden with 330 dogs representing 76 breeds.
