The governor of Istanbul says the death toll from yesterday’s terror attack at the Ataturk international airport is now up to 41, with scores more wounded.

Three suicide bombers, who arrived at the airport in a taxi, blew themselves up after opening fire on travellers and visitors at the airport.

No one has taken responsibility for the attack, but Turkish officials believe it was the work of ISIS.

The airport has partially reopened this morning with a limited amount of flights flying out of Europes third largest airport.

Pope Francis today denounced the “brutal terrorist attack,” and called for the violent people behind such assaults to convert their hearts and change their ways toward a path of peace.

It was the third terror attack in Istanbul since March.
