If there is a mail strike or a lockout, those expecting Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security cheques will still get them.

They’re considered to be “essential” by the Canada Revenue Agency so they’ll be delivered as usual.

So will the Canada Child Benefit cheques and the Working Income Tax Benefit cheques.

The Working Income Tax cheques will be delivered July 5th, while other cheques will arrive July 20th.

The CRA says other cheques will not be delivered until normal postal delivery resumes.

People waiting for refunds or rebates can go online to sign up for direct deposit to their bank account.
