Ontario doctors have set a date to vote on a fee agreement between the province and the Ontario Medical Association.

The O-M-A will hold a general membership meeting on August 14th, at which those in attendance will vote on the proposed agreement, and the result will be binding on the association.

Ratification of the deal was delayed last Monday when a petition was put forward by 3-thousand O-M-A members who opposed it.

The four-year deal would see the province’s physician services budget increase by 2.5 percent per year from $11.5-billion to $12.9-billion by 2020.
