Criminal Minds has its man, and he’s not an “unsub.”

He’s actor Damon Gupton, and he’s the newest additon to the cast of the popular CBS crime drama.

Gupton replaces 54 year-old Thomas Gibson who played the part of Special Agent Aaron Hochner, or “Hotch,” the team leader of the FBI’s Behavoural Analysis Unit.

Gibson was fired after a physical altercation on the set over creative differences.

According to CBS, Gupton’s character will be that of a Special Agent from the FBI’s counterintelligence division.

He’ll first appear in the eighth episode of the season.
