Haiti’s death toll is over 500 from Hurricane Matthew, and thousands of homes have been destroyed.
The impoverished island nation once again needs a great deal of help, and that’s prompted UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to put out a call for aid.
Ban says he’s disappointed in the response so far from the international community.
He’s been surveying damage, and says a UN trust fund has been set up to aid in the fight against cholera.
Six million dollars has been donated to a relief fund by the Canadian government.
