There are new producers for the Oscars show on television.
Last year’s Academy Awards presentations, hosted by comedian Chris Rock, drew one of the lowest number of viewers ever for the big show, 34.4 million.
The Oscars and the televion show were critized because the lists of nominees were so “white.”
On Friday the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the Oscar night ceremonies will be produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd. Neither one has produced the show before.
De Luca is a veteran producer and a three-time Oscar nominee.
Todd is president of Pearl Street Films. That’s the production company owned by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
The Academy Awards will be presented on February 26th.
The show’s host has yet to be selected.
