Reno held that position from 1993 to 2001 and was one of the most polarizing figures of the Clinton administration.
She was widely criticized for launching federal raids on the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas but she was also became the face of arrests made in the Oklahoma City Bombing.
Reno was sworn in by then US President Bill Clinton in 1993, and resigned in 2001 to make a run for Governor of Florida in 2002.
She lost by the narrowest of margins.
Reno`s god daughter says she died from complications of Parkinsons disease.
