The Christmas season officially got underway in Toronto Saturday night with the city’s 50th annual Cavalcade of Lights at Nathan Phillips Square.
Festivities included the lighting of the city’s official Christmas tree, as well as a skating party, musical performances and fireworks.
And for those who like get outdoors and face winter head-on, many of Toronto’s outdoor rinks are now open.
Thirty of the city’s 50 outdoor artificial rinks opened Saturday, and another 20 will open next Saturday.
They’re usually open from 9:00 a.m until 10:00 p.m. daily.
