Marijuana crusaders Marc and Jodie Emery are accusing the Prime Minister of being a hypocrite by promising to legalize pot but allowing police to enforce current laws. They were released Friday with bail set at $30,000 thousand dollars each with conditions they can’t possess, traffic or dispense marijuana. They were arrested earlier in the week being arrested when police raided dispensaries run under the couple’s Cannabis Culture brand. Marc Emery noted he’s been arrested countless times in the past and says he’ll fight back against the charges police have laid. Jody Emery tweeted after her release saying she is no longer the owner/operator of Cannabis Culture and she felt degraded after 3 nights in jail. The federal government is moving to legalize marijuana, but Trudeau emphasized late last year that the current laws still exist. Police raided some of the dispensaries that are run under the Cannabis Culture Brand that the Emerys own. Police allege that given the amount of marijuana seized, the stores can only be supplied by illegitimate sources often tied to organized crime. Jodie recently appeared on ‘The Zoomer’ on Vision TV to talk about their long fight to legalize pot.
