The federal Liberal caucus wrapped up two days of discussions in Ottawa Saturday night with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau saying members are more united than ever.

Trudeau says one of the great strengths of the Liberal Party is that it has a wide range of perspectives.   He says that allows them to represent the vast range of perspectives of the Canadian people.

Discussions in the two-day meeting touched on everything from the Trump administration in the U.S. to Canada’s role as a peacekeeper.

The Prime Minister made a pledge last summer to send up to 600 troops and 150 police officers for peacekeeping operations conducted by the U-N, and his government is carefully considering ways to make good on that pledge.

But Trudeay says he won’t rush any decision until its impact overseas and at home has been carefully studied.
