Marchers around the world took to the streets on Saturday to take part in The March For Science, demonstrating against attacks on the scientific community, and to give scientists and the work they do a higher profile.
Dozens of non-partisan scientific professional organizations also joined the marches in an attempt to promote more understanding of science and to defend it against attacks.
President Donald Trump has called climate change a hoax, and has cut spending by the EPA, the Environmental Protection Agency, by 31 percent.
Demonstrators in Toronto marched from City Hall to the Ontario Legislature where they held a rally and heard speakers.
The marches coincided with Earth Day. Earth Day Canada is a national charity that inspires and supports people across the counttry to connect with nature and build resilient communities as well as fostering a commitment to Stewardship and conservation.
