The home Elvis Presley bought as he started his rise to fame has been damaged by fire.

A local newspaper reports the electrical fire started in the wall between the living room and dining room over the weekend.

The Memphis home was bought by The King in 1956 a year before he moved to Graceland.

No one was in the home at the time as renovations were ongoing and most of the memorabilia in the home was removed.
