A surprise announcement this morning from lawyers representing a 22-year-old Ancaster man accused in a massive hack of Yahoo emails. Karim Baratov’s lawyer says his client may decide not to fight his extradition to the U-S. Baratov was arrested in Hamilton in March under the Extradition Act. He made the surprise announcement in court today and said the decision would come at a hearing on July 7. U-S authorities have indicted Baratov and two men thought to be officers of Russia’s Federal Security Service for computer hacking, economic espionage and other crimes
