The prime minister stood before a crowd in Ottawa on Saturday and recited the provinces and territories during Canada Day 150 celebrations. But he made a big oops when he forgot to mention Alberta, home to some of the prime minister’s most powerful rivals in the House of Commons, and a place the Trudeau name has long been a dirty word to some. Calgary Conservative M-P Michelle Rempel went straight to Facebook. “The prime minister of our country — on Canada Day! — forgot that Alberta exists,” she said. “I don’t think this was an accident.” It didn’t take long for Twitter to blow up after the PM made the faux pas. Trudeau awkwardly walked back onto the stage after finishing his speech to offer a mea culpa. “I’m a little embarrassed. I got excited somewhere over the Rockies,” he said. “Alberta, I love you. Happy Canada Day!
