Ducks Ulimted will be getting1.9 milion dollars from the provincial government.
The money will be used to help restore southern Ontario wetlands with the conservation organization heading up a new committee made up of conservation authorities, environmental groups, industry and indigenous people.
The province says its partnership with Ducks Unlimited is important because wetlands slow down the impact of climate change by easing the risk of flooding and drought, and are beneficial to the economy as well as our health by improving water quality.
They also provide destinations for tourism and recreation.
