BRITISH ACTOR ROBERT HARDY DIES

Veteran British stage and screen actor Robert Hardy has died at the age of 91.

Hardy was Minister for Majic Cornelius Fudge in the “Harry Potter” movies and from 1978 to 1990 he played eccentric veterinarian Siegfried Farnon in the television series “All Creatures Great and Small.” The series was based on the books by James Herriot which told tales of life in the rural Yorkkshire Dales of England.

Hardy was born in 1925 and served in the Royal Air Force in World War II.

After the war he performed Shakespeare at the famed Stratford-upon-Avon theatre.

He played the role of Winston Churchill in at least a half-dozen teelvision series and films.

His family describes him as gruff, elegant, twinkly and always dignified.

Hardy is suvived by his three children
